Peter Fürhapter –Bass/Saxophone
Peter Fürhapter is a Salzburg bassist and saxophonist. From an early age he was fascinated by the world of music and later became particularly interested in jazz and the great wealth of music from other cultures and countries.
Peter owes his extensive musical knowledge both to his double bass studies at the Salzburg Mozarteum, which gave him insights into the world of classical music, and to his many years as an active musician, especially in the fields of jazz and world music.
His love for Balkan music has developed and grown over time through joint musical collaborations with musicians from Eastern Europe, especially from Bulgaria.
The Ostbeatbend immediately took note of Peter's sensitivity to and preference for the complex Balkan rhythms and recently made him responsible for the lowest notes in the rhythm section.
